I thoroughly enjoyed my sections with John and Justin. It was a privilege to study with such top notch academics. Perusing texts in painstaking detail, discussing all the grammatical elements, was a profitable exercise for improving my reading. I found it helpful in John’s class needing to translate sentences into Burmese. It was also useful practicing using different grammatical constructions to create sentences in Burmese. – 2019 course participant.
The materials used were very helpful. Both the audio and written samples helped me understand sentence-structure and grammar far better than I had. I thought the teachers explained constructions and tricky vocabulary very well. Keeping students honest about tones was also very helpful! – 2018 course participant.
This course was excellent and I can’t recommend it enough. Justin was a fabulous instructor (as was Yu Yu) and it was a very enjoyable two weeks. – 2017 course participant.
I feel very fortunate to have been able to do the course and to have had such experienced, interesting, competent and engaging teachers, and would also like to thank Luke for all the work he has put in. – 2017 course participant.
The course was not only really intense and productive but also really social. I met heaps of people from NGOs and even some in my field who I had not met before so it was really good. I recommend this course to everyone learning Burmese. – 2016 course participant.
Thank for your hard work. It’s my first time to join this intensive Burmese language class but I feel really impressed on how you are very dedicated to support all students. Seeing how other students are very active and enthusiastic to learn Burmese has inspired me a lot to practice more. In the future, I would love to join your class again. – 2014 course participant.
